Welcome to the West Yorkshire Print Workshop

Based in Mirfield, the West Yorkshire Print Workshop is an open access printmaking facility.

We also run a regular programme of specialist printmaking courses and other related activities including arts and crafts activities and workshops for young people. We support artists and creative businesses by providing printmaking facilities, affordable studio spaces and exhibiting opportunities for members.

WYPW is a registered charity (no. 1010125) and a Regularly Funded Organisation of the Arts Council, England. We welcome any offers of voluntary assistance and sponsorship from the private and business sectors.

Our shop sells a wide range of printmaking papers, inks and other related sundries all at very competitive prices.

We sell to both members & non members. The opening times follow that of the workshop but items can arrange to be left out for members outside of these hours.

.WHAT'S ON:

Courses at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop

We have a rolling programme of vocational & educational workshops in printmaking techniques and other related arts.

Courses run on either evenings or weekends, are designed for beginners or the more experienced and are led by specialist artists.

We work with both oil and acrylic/water-based inks, and aim to minimize the use of more potentially toxic materials where possible.

WYPW SPRING CRAFT FAIR

Saturday 27th March 2010

10.00 4.00pm

West Yorkshire Print Workshop is providing another opportunity to purchase contemporary arts and crafts direct from the artist at its Spring Craft Fair.

Many of the artists will be selling their work in Mirfield for the first time giving an exciting new range of stalls
So get organised and buy gifts for all those special occasions in the year ahead, such as birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. Or simply enjoy some retail therapy and treat yourself to a little something

Crafts on sale will include cards, jewellery, photographs and prints. There will also be an opportunity to purchase more unusual items such as customised chalkboards and unique womens clothing accessories.

WYPW members will also have a stall selling original prints and cards. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how some of these are produced at the printmaking demonstrations in our print rooms.

FREE ART & CRAFT WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AGED 8 TO 14
(FUNDED BY MIRFIELD EDUCATIONAL CHARITY)

Starting in May last year and funded by Mirfield Educational Charity, WYPW provided free art and craft workshops during the school holidays. These were a great success and we have now secured further funding to offer the workshops on a more permanent basis (from Kirklees Arts in the Neighbourhood and the Awards for All lottery grants scheme). Watch this space for details of future activities and events...
