Process and Practice 26 March – 7 May 2016

An exhibition by studio holders at WYPW which shares something of the artists' working methods which usually remain hidden behind closed doors.  The exhibition will include new collaborations, participatory activities for the public, artists' talks, and professional development sessions for local/regional artists.

In addition to visitors being able to see an exhibition evolve over 6 weeks, there are opportunities for adults, children, young people and families to participate in a variety of activities.  An exciting mix of workshops is programmed throughout the project.
Studio holders include practitioners at various stages of their career. All are professional artists engaged in showing work in galleries, working to private and public commissions, delivering community arts projects and/or working in education.

In addition to the programme of talks and activities highlighted below, join us for a special 'Print Day in May' event on Saturday 7th May, 10am-3pm, for Open Studios, drop-in Screen-printing workshop, book launch by Saba Rifat, and printmaking demonstrations.
The project has been made possible by Lottery funding from Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts, with support from staff at West Yorkshire Print Workshop.  It is hoped that this is the first of many events which celebrate the creative industries in Mirfield and give opportunities for local people to engage with professional artists.
