The Mayor and Mayoress of Mirfield, Keith and Jenny Sibbald attended the HOST opening party at Mirfield's West Yorkshire Print Workshop on Friday night. The couple are pictured with Chair Pat Crowther, who gave the Mayor and Mayoress a guided tour of the printmaking facility. "They didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly suprised with the gallery and our printmaking facilities", said Pat. "They were very impressed with what we have to offer to artists and to the local community, and were really positive and enthusiastic about the place. The Mayor offered a lot of helpful advice, and we're pleased and grateful that they both came along to show their support". The event was well attended with around 100 people turning up for the preview evening. The print workshop is open to the public next weekend, too - Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm. Visitors can see work by twelve artists, and get involved with a wide range of activities including printmaking and jewellery making. |
