Invitation to private view: this Sunday, 4th July 2010, from 12pm to 4pm
Itd be lovely to see you at this showcase exhibition of members work, which will be a great opportunity to see a range of work created by artists who use the workshop.
As an added incentive, David Hockney will be showing works from the Brothers Grimm series of etchings from the 1960s/70s. Were hoping that this will be a big draw for art lovers, and will mean that a lot of people see our exhibiton, too ...

Pardes is Hindi for foreign land.

A short deadline on this, from Roz Garthwaite:
Just to let you know that the cost of having a stall at A World Together has now been reduced to a recession busting £20 and the deadline for applications has been extended to 5th July.
I would very much appreciate it if you would forward this email to anyone and everyone who you think might be interested in having a stall.
Kind regards,
Roz

A World Together will be held on Sunday 18th July from 12 noon to 6pm as part of Festival in the Park in Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury. This will be a culturally diverse event aimed at families and young people with a variety of craft activities, live music and entertainment on offer. We would anticipate an audience in excess of 8,000 throughout the day.
As part of the event there will be a specific area for selling goods called the Bizarre Bazaar We are looking for craft makers who would be interested in selling their wares jewellery, artwork, cards, gifts, etc especially if it is a little different Given the nature of the event and expected audience, we would not anticipate large and/or expensive items to sell that well on the day, although people may want to place an order with you.
We have a number of stalls available specifically for craft makers at a subsidised rate of £20 per stall (normal rate £40). Should you wish to share a stall with other craft makers, that is fine but we will not match up makers, you will need to organise this and make a single application. All stalls are sized 10 foot x 4 foot. You will not be allowed to bring your own stalls and there will be no power available in this area, however you can bring your own generator providing it is quiet, runs on diesel and has been risk assessed. If you are interested in having a stall, please complete the attached application form and return it marked for my attention to the address indicated on the form.
We will contact you to let you know if your application has been successful and to confirm arrangements for setting up on the day. If you have not heard from us within 4 weeks of sending in your application, please contact us to check the status of your application.
We look forward to receiving your completed form by Monday 5th July 2010 at the latest. Cheques payable to Kirklees Council must to be submitted with your application, together with your public liability insurance details. If your application is unsuccessful, your cheque will be returned.
