Rules and Regulations

 

Please carefully read the guidelines below.

1. Submissions

1.1 Both 2D+3D original hand printed works are acceptable (this excludes giclee and digital prints).

1.2 Artists can submit up to three works for a single submission fee

2. The Selection Process

2.1 All works submitted for the Flourish Award will be viewed by a selection panel. Each year there is a different panel made from printmakers, curators and arts professionals.

2.2 Works will be judged on creativity, originality, use of materials, technical ability and overall impact.

2.3 It is the selection panel's role to choose a shortlist and the eventual winner of the Flourish Award.  The panel's decision is final.

3. Framing and glazing

There are many submissions to the Flourish Award and we cannot accept any liability for damage to works that are not submitted in accordance with this paragraph 3. The artist is responsible for insuring their own work.

3.1 Framed and unframed work will be accepted.

3.2 All artists must ensure that each work is properly packaged when posted or delivered with labeling on the outside.

3.3 The artist’s name, work title, medium and selling price should be supplied on the reverse of each submitted work.

3.4 All framed Works should be mirror plated, with plates reversed in to avoid damage to other works.

4. Inadmissible works

The following types of work are inadmissible:

4.1 works that have already been exhibited in previous Flourish Awards

4.2 works that are over 3 years old

4.3 works that are not by definition 'printed' using traditional methods

5. Intellectual property rights

5.1 Each artist by entering a work confirms that they hold all intellectual property rights in the work.

5.2 By signing the Entry Form artists agree to allow images of their work to be reproduced in press and other media and used for marketing the exhibition. All works shall be credited to the artist.

6. Submission Fees
There is a submission fee to enter the Flourish Award, there is a member and non member fee. Please make sure payment is made through PayPal or by cheque, made payable to the WYPW. All payments must be made when completing online registration http://www.wypw.org/flourish-award/

7. Notification
Shortlisted artists will be contacted on or soon after the 3o July. Only those artists who do not provide an email address will be notified by post. We will publish a list of short listed artists on the WYPW website after selection.

8. Collection of work
8.1 Dates for collection of works will be published on the WYPW Website. Please ensure that arrangements are made for your works to be collected on the days specified.

8.2 If the Works are not collected or claimed by, or on behalf of, the relevant artist within 12 months of the last collection day (notified under clause 8.1 above), WYPW will be entitled to destroy, sell, or otherwise dispose of the Works without consent and without prior notification to the artist. The artist hereby agrees that it will not be entitled to any compensation as a result of the aforementioned destruction, sale or disposal of the works by the WYPW.

9. Commission
All sales of work from the Flourish Exhibition will have 30% commission taken from the selling price. Please bear this in mind when pricing work.
