CREATE! Handmade Christmas : Screen printed Totes and Textiles
This short day workshop provides a taster of the screen printing process, and is a perfect way to create hand-made Christmas gifts for friends and family. Take home tote bags printed with your own design, and learn a new skill while you’re at it!
This is a great workshop for those who are new to printmaking, or can also act as refresher for those who have had some previous experience of screen printing. You will learn how a design is transferred onto a screen, and print your own design onto tote bags using water-based inks. The cost of the course includes 3 tote bags per person, and more can be purchased at £3 per bag. Alternatively we will have some plain calico fabric to print on or bring along your own fabric (cotton or linen based) or T-shirts if you’d prefer.
If you have a hectic life and have to squeeze your creative time into a tightly-packed schedule, our CREATE! Saturday Sessions are for you! You can have your morning lie-in, learn a new skill and indulge your creativity, and get home in time for tea! All our workshops are suitable for beginners and are taught by expert tutors, and the price of the course includes all basic materials.
Karen Stansfield is printmaker/maker who previously worked in television, theater and the fashion industry. She now works from her studio exploring different printing medium and exhibits locally.
No previous experience is needed for this course. Beginners are welcome, along with those who want a refresher.
All course prices include basic materials such as inks, paper, tools and equipment. Other materials and printmaking papers will be available to buy during the course if you would like to try something a bit different, or take some materials home to try out.
On this course some preparation will have been done for you before you start, and therefore you may still need further training before using the workshops as a member, depending on your experience level. We run regular weekend screen printing courses, which cover the process in more detail and equip you with the skills and confidence needed to start using our workshops as a member. Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel your booking more than three weeks prior to the course start date, you will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% admin fee. (Admin fee does not apply for Printmaker’s Toolkit Sessions).
We regret that we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks before the course start date. At this point we have already started making preparations including ordering materials and equipment, and it is less likely that we will be able to fill your place.
We cannot give refunds for failed attendance due to sickness or external circumstances.
If you would like to transfer to another course, we can do this free of charge providing you let us know three weeks prior to the course start date.
Bookings cannot be transferred with less than three week’s notice, however in the event that you are unable to attend on the day, bookings can be transferred to another person. In this case please inform us as far in advance as possible so that we can update the booking.
