Stencil Monoprinting: CREATE! Workshop
This course will introduce basic stencil monoprinting using the etching press – a simple to grasp printmaking process which opens up endless possibilities for creative experimentation and play. The workshop will be process-driven, with the focus on developing creative thinking and inspiring play. Learners will be guided through demonstrations of stencil monoprinting, and shown examples and resources for inspiration. You will have the freedom to experiment with colour, layering and ghost printing to produce beautiful, unique prints.
If you have a hectic life and have to squeeze your creative time into a tightly-packed schedule, our CREATE! Saturday Sessions are for you! You can learn a new skill and indulge your creativity, and get home in time for tea! All our workshops are suitable for beginners and are taught by expert tutors, and the price of the course includes all materials.
This workshop can be enjoyed by complete beginners to printmaking who want a fun, creative outlet, or those who would like to expand their current printmaking practice, as this process can be used to create backgrounds, to draw or print onto, can be adapted for screen printing or used to make collage papers along with the printed stencils themselves.
Lisa Stubbs is a freelance illustrator, printmaker and teacher living in the beautiful Holme Valley. She creates children’s books and also fine art prints as well as running workshops. She currently has two of her own picture books published and has exhibited her work with numerous galleries. Her work is inspired by vintage children’s picture books, vintage packaging and little moments in life, the feelings of being connected to family, friends and nature, the good vibes and breathe it moments. It is these feelings she wants to capture and celebrate with her art.
All course prices include basic materials such as inks, paper, tools and equipment. Other materials and printmaking papers will be available to buy during the course if you would like to try something a bit different, or take some materials home to try out.
