For our June Process & Practice Session we are excited to be off-site at East Street Arts in Leeds, for an introduction to stone lithography by Nora Hammenberg from Stone Tree Press –  an independent fine art lithography workshop in Leeds that offers collaboration printing and lithography courses. Nora will introduce you to the very basics of stone lithography printing through a short demo where she will be printing a few prints from her current work. She will also show you sample prints to demonstrate the variation you can achieve with in lithography, and to spark ideas on how it could be use as an art form. Nora will be happy to answer questions about lithography and the work she does at Stone Tree Press.

These 1 hour morning sessions focus on technique, practice and making, and comprise of practical demonstrations and talks led by practicing artists and printmakers. The sessions are intended to encourage, inspire, and generate ideas and conversation around printmaking, so don’t be afraid to ask questions! Anyone is welcome to attend – printmaker or not. If you are not a printmaker, they can act as taster sessions to show you just what printmaking is all about. If you are a printmaker, the sessions can offer valuable hints and tips to help further your printmaking practice, or introduce you to a new technique.
