Wood Engraving – September

Wood Engraving – September

Weekend course
Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th September 2019
10am – 4pm

Wood Engraving

This new weekend course will introduce you to the technique of wood engraving, a relief printing process where a design is hand-carved into an end-grain wood block and printed by hand or with a press. During the weekend you will learn how to translate your design onto a wood engraving block, how to use engraving tools and how to proof-print your block, with demonstrations and troubleshooting throughout. Learners will complete the workshop with a sound knowledge of the wood engraving technique and a small edition of prints on good quality paper to take home.

*Please note that this course will require close work so good eyesight or glasses are a must. You might like to bring your own stand-alone magnifying glass if you choose to work with one.
